About the Author
Theodore P. Burbank In 1979 Theodore
P. Burbank founded the first brokerage office, in Worcester County, MA, to
specialize in the valuation and sale of private and family businesses.
Since then, he has participated in the valuation and/or sale of more than
2,000 companies. Revenues of the
companies served have ranged from $100,000 to $32,000,000. A pioneer in the
practice of business sales and valuation, Ted is recognized nationally as an
authority on the subjects. He is
contributing author of “Handbook of Business Valuations” and “Valuation
and Sale of Small and Mid-size Companies”, both published by John Wiley &
Sons as well as numerous articles on subjects surrounding business transfers.
His newest works, "Buying a Business Made Easier" (Book and
software) and
"DealMaker docs" (documentation
software) are published by Parker-Nelson Publishing as are “In and Out of
Business...Happily” and “VALUware” (interactive business valuation
software). He has conducted
seminars for numerous colleges and trade groups in this country and Canada on
business transfer and valuation issues. Prior to
founding the Burbank Group, Ted had owned several businesses and had established
